As FPSO designer increase the size of their turret to accommodate more risers, the thickness of bearing support structure increases in tandem to support the weight as well as the mooring force which needs bigger and longer fastener. To fulfill the machining requirement, our engineering team invested period of trial and testing to develop drilling system and procedure to handle up to 10 x diameter insitu drilling with the record of drilling 100mm diameter through hole vertically with a depth of 1000mm.Threading or tapping is also no size limit for our field service team. The biggest in-situ threading using machine tap was M90mm x 180mm whereas the self developed cnc threading machine can machined up to M140mm x 480mm depth when required.
